Surely you've stumbled across the little Dalaran Sewer Turtle and its friend the Sewer Rat in The War Within. Here's how you can help them! And get a little reward, too.
The War Within, like any World of Warcraft expansion, is full of secrets. On their leveling journey through Isle of Dorn in the new continent of Khaz Algar, many of us will stumble across the Dalaran Sewer Turtle. Helping it isn't that straightforward, so we compiled a handy guide to walk you through acquiring this secret's reward.
Dalaran Sewer Turtle Location
Here is where you will find the Dalaran Sewer Turtle in case you haven't encountered it or missed it; it's south of the capital city, in Freywold Village, which is one of the first questing areas. Go a little bit south of the village and up a hill with a big tree. It is marked on your minimap when nearby.
Dalaran Sewer Turtle Solution
Step 1: Give it some fish
The turtle wants to help out the wounded Sewer Rat recover and needs some fish. Gather 5x Dornish Pike, which you can fish yourself out of Calm Surfacing Ripples, or just buy them on the Auction House (while you're at it, read step 2, since you will need more fish). They aren't expensive.
After you give the turtle these fish, it will need some time. Come back in 10 minutes to progress this secret. Just do a nearby World Quest or two.
Step 2: Wait 10 minutes, give it another fish
We need another fish for the Dalaran Sewer Turtle. This time, it's the Goldengill Trout, which is a bit rarer, but you only need 1. It is also cheap on the Auction House.
After this, the turtle will be ready to reunite with its family, so you can just proceed to the next step without waiting.
Step 3: Find it in Dornogal
The turtle family is safe and reunited in Dornogal, along with the Sewer Rat friend! Go to the northside where Stoneshaper's Atrium is. This will also get marked on your minimap when close.
Just talk to the turtle that's lit up purple, and then it will drop a treasure bag containing the whistle for the Dalaran Sewer Turtle pet. Use it to add it to your collection!
